London Olympics , North Greenwich Arena

END USER: LOCOG Olympics London 2012

DESCRIPTION

An existing high end international event facility ‘overlayed’ to stage two Olympic events, Gymnastics & Baseketball for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

PLANNING MANAGER'S INVOLVEMENT

Planning Manager Ltd assisted with the control of an intense programme for the overlay set up to complete on time. We coordinated the information provided by the overlay teams and liaised with venue management to produce a detailed working programme which delivered a successful project to both the end user and venue owner.

Working to a tight deadline Planning Manager Ltd prepared daily working programme briefs from the master programme for multiple trades as well as providing daily progress reports for the wider client team. We were also directly responsible for reporting the status of the project to LOCOG through standard dashboard reporting.

The overlay scheme involved the coordination of temporary building installations (including fit out), large scale infrastructure cabling, logistics and event fit out throughout the arena. The programme control played a large part in the successful management especially during the 24hr periods when activities were planned to the hour.

CLIENT REFERENCE

Managing Planner : Planning Manager Ltd worked seamlessly fitting into our venue teams, ensuring the programme status of the Olympic venues were reported accurately to senior management. Planning Manager produced detailed programmes in some circumstances on an hour by hour basis.

It was a pleasure to work with such dedicated planners who quickly adapted to the high pressure delivery environment, making a valuable contribution to the delivery of the Olympic Overlay for London 2012. I would recommend Planning Manager to work with any team and deliver the job in hand.
