PLANNNING MANAGER'S INVOLVEMENT

Planning Manager Ltd in a true collaborative manner assisted Morgan Sindall with preparing the tender programmes ensuring the programme submission was in strict accordance with the MOD's requirements. Project risks were allocated with time allowances to demonstrate the best, most likely and worst case scenarios.

Morgan Sindall was successful in winning the project, hence Planning Manager took on a strong coordination role within the project. This role involved holding weekly collaborative planning workshops with the client, Morgan Sindall's project management, our supply chain and the client's sub-contractors. Six week 'look ahead programmes' were produced every week which recorded the programme impact of any potential compensation events and how these related to the original plan of works. During these meetings Planning Manager also identified potential mitigation ideas in an effort to minimise delay and disruption to the project.

Subcontractor's progress was recorded thereby highlighting any issues as they occurred. The outcome of which was a successful project finishing within the contract programme duration. This project was also handed over to Morgan Sindall " Perfect Delivery" ethos, this means that it was snag free, handed over on the agreed date with all documentation in place for handover.

CLIENT REFERENCE

Scott Savory, contracts manager for Morgan Sindall, said: "This was my first experience with Planning Manager who provided us with a welcome second set of eyes on the project and facilitated the weekly coordination of meetings by recording these in the form of look ahead programmes and updating master programmes. This helped us focus our team on key weekly objectives and address many issues before they arose on site. In turn, this enabled us to ensure the perfect delivery whilst working on a live RAF base adjacent to a runway and coordinating other subcontractors who were not directly contracted to Morgan Sindall. I would and have actively set out to use Planning Manager in subsequent and future projects."
